Boy Scout Troop 125 (Commack, NY) Goes to Washington D.C..

As Told by Scout Josh I.

A couple of months ago I was lucky enough to go to Washington D.C. with my Boy Scout troop. After a long bus ride, we visited Arlington National Cemetery, where we saw the changing of the guard and John F. Kennedy's burial site. We also went on a tour of the Capitol Building and saw a lot of cool things like statues, and the old senate meeting room. We then headed back to the Air Force base where we were staying and hung out there. The next day we went to The National Archives and saw a lot of historical objects such as the declaration of independence and and an original copy of the Magna Carta. We then had a choice to go to the National History museum or the Air and Space Museum. I chose the Air and Space Museum. Me and my friend Chris rode the flight simulator and visited the cool exhibits. We ate dinner at Union Square and saw the monuments at night... in the rain. I learned not to wear sneakers that drag you down in puddles mainly because they are not fun ... But weather aside it was great and we all had a great time. The next day we went to the Air and Space museum Annex and then headed home ... in the rain ... again.
